Huda Abbas

Executive Director

Since 2000, Huda has worked in various roles at MIAG and has been the organization's E.D. for the past 14 years. She works alongside the board of directors as well as staff members to develop and implement organizational strategic directions and to ensure smooth operations. She led the planning and delivery of many successful projects in the areas of leadership, active living, women skills development, mental health, parenting skills and senior’s inclusion. She spearheaded the compilation of many educational resource booklets. Huda has a M.A. in Demographic and Population Studies, B.Sc. in Statistics and has completed courses in Research Methods and Analysis, Women’s Leadership, Women Abuse Prevention, among others.



Eran Derandonyan-Asombang

Accountant

Eran Derandonyan-Asombang has a M.Sc. in International Business Management and is currently working towards her CGA designation. She has worked for over 10 years as a Financial Project Manager/Bookkeeper in the not-for-profit sector. Eran joined MIAG in May 2018 and provides financial support to the Executive Director through bookkeeping, payroll, banking and reporting services. She maintains all necessary and appropriate records, files and processes to ensure the smooth and compliant financial operation of the organization, focusing on accuracy and transparency.

Farida Salahuddin

Administrative Assistant and Coordinator of

WHWH project

Farida has been working with MIAG since 2008. She is responsible for administrative activities as well as volunteer management and coordinating the ‘Women’s Health and Well-being Hub’ program. She provides various workshops including Adobe Photoshop and InDesign software training. She has a heartfelt interest in working for communities and individuals. She is devoted to serving people who need help; assists clients to improve their well-being and strives to make positive changes in their lives. She holds a B.A. (Honours) in Sociology and participated in many training courses.

Yasmine Behiry

Manager, Operations, Training and Fund Development

Yasmine has extensive experience working in community development, serving diverse populations of all ages in the Region of Peel. She's trained in crisis counselling, case management, and anti-oppressive practice. Yasmine is passionate about empowering marginalized communities through capacity-building initiatives. In her role at MIAG Centre for Diverse Women & Families, Yasmine coordinates multilingual community education programs that support older adults, children and newcomer families. She received her BA from York University specializing in Sociology, Public Policy and Immigration and Refugee Studies. She is also a CASWE-ACFTS certified field instructor and has a diploma in Social Service Work from George Brown College. 



Kerri-Anne Lambie

Coordinator of the Bridge to Employment for Women

Kerri holds degrees in Nutrition as well as Homeopathic Medicine Health Sciences. Her primary focus on women’s health and development has always been part of her private practice and her passion for empowerment and community development led her to the non-profit sector. At MIAG for over 5 years Kerri brings her knowledge, experience, and expertise to various organizational programming’s. Her professional certification in Personality Dimensions brings innovative diversity and inclusion trainings to the corporate and non-profit sector through MIAG’s Training Unit.


Solinas Elgamal

Coordinator of the
Ethno-Cultural Communities Well-Being Project

(Including Intake for Counselling Services)

Solinas Elgamal holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is a certified Mental Health First Aider. She coordinates and facilitates mental health courses to the Peel region community as well as referring clients to the appropriate services as an intake worker. She is dedicated to disseminate awareness about mental health and well-being while connecting people to various mental health resources and services available in the community. She finds a sense of fulfillment in serving the diverse communities and individuals. She strives to bring in positive changes by promoting mental well-being and inclusion through the active participation of individuals.

Hira Zulfiqar

Organizational Growth Specialist

Hira works as the Organizational Growth Specialist with MIAG, she utilizes her creativity to support the organizations growth, development, and overall sustainability. Hira has taken on numerous leadership roles to support diverse communities of all ages and backgrounds. She is passionate about mentoring youth, community outreach and engagement, advocacy, and DEI initiatives. She has an undergraduate degree in Justice Studies from the University of Guelph-Humber, and a Masters in Immigration and Settlement Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University. In her research, Hira focused on identifying issues newcomers, refugees and immigrant communities face in Canada and ways grassroot organizations can better support marginalized populations. 

Sangeeta Raina

Co-op Placement Coordinator

Sangeeta Raina brings over 15 years of dedicated experience in advocating for women and gender equity, with expertise in marginalized populations. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Adult Education, understanding multifaceted barriers to employment, education, and well-being. Sangeeta firmly believes in each individual's unique talent and the need for inclusion, respect, and value. Her unwavering dedication actively promotes empowerment through experiential learning, contributing to a more equitable world for women and communities.

Dalia Taha

Coordinator of the Youth Connection 101, and the Women Skills Enhancement Circle Programs

Dalia, with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, specializing in Project Management, and a Higher Diploma in Software Engineering, brings over a decade of domestic and international Project Coordination experience, offering a profound knowledge base and versatile skill set for seamless project execution. Dedicated to MIAG since June 2022, she's passionate about program coordination, particularly community support, and is committed to contributing to MIAG's ongoing success and growth.

Daniel Valdivieso

Social Media Specialist


Daniel is a seasoned graphic designer who earned his degree in 2000 and continued to enhance his skill set by actively pursuing web development and online marketing. Since 2013, he has been dedicated to crafting impactful strategies for small businesses. His passion, however, lies in supporting non-profit organizations in their growth journey, where he has been instrumental in shaping their corporate identities, creating compelling brochures, and designing engaging websites, all while spearheading effective online marketing campaigns. With a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to his craft, he continues to make a meaningful difference in the world of design and marketing.
