Dazzling Senior

Dazzling Senior Program

Dazzling Seniors was a two-year project that involved ethno-cultural seniors in an active living and physical awareness program. The objectives of this program were two-fold: ‘to help inactive older adults become active;’ and ‘to support quality, accessible, and safe programming.’ It offered indoor and outdoor active living sessions such as Yoga, Line Dancing and Nordic Poll Walking to seniors in four different geographic locations: Mississauga South, Malton, Brampton, and Etobicoke. Seven rounds of ten sessions each were delivered from June 2018 to March 2020.

This program encouraged the visible minority senior communities in Peel and surrounding areas to come out, connect, and be involved in active living program in a healthful manners.

Testimonial

"It was my first experience with yoga. It was a wonderful relaxing session, friendly environment, one family, the instructor was excellent. I enjoyed it very much as it took me away from stress. It relieved my backache and muscle spasm as well. It was a new amazing exercise for me. I really appreciate it and I am thankful to MIAG for running this program."
