Multicultural Children Soccer Program

Multicultural Children Soccer Program

This program promotes the love of sport in children whilst contributing to healthy child development. At its most basic level, not only does soccer instill the habit of active living in a young life but it also promotes the importance of teamwork and the reward of disciplined efforts.

In the summer season, MIAG organizes Multicultural Children Soccer Program for children ages 5 to 14 years old. Children are able to develop leadership skills such as team work and collaboration while they enjoy the outdoor soccer game. The parents and guardians have the opportunity to relax under the sun, while watching their children playing happily. Some parents come forward to help in this program.

This program always concludes with a tournament where awards are presented to the children participants accompanied with their enthusiastic cheers.

Last year of 2019, this project is funded by the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and sponsored by the Mississauga Central Lions Club.

“Our children and we love to come to this program because we enjoy every moment, keep them active and give us the opportunity to know and to share with people from diverse communities” one of the parents stated.

Another parent added: “It’s a great program and affordable to newcomers’ families during summer time.”

Success Story

“My name is Erick Bejarano. I had the opportunity to participate in the Multicultural Children Soccer Program with MIAG for the past three years. I felt that this program changed my life, because I learned many skills in this program like how to work in a team, improved my knowledge in soccer, helped me meet new people, and how to play soccer. I was able to develop many friendships there. Last year I volunteered in this wonderful program, and I helped little kids to improve their skills in soccer. In conclusion, I am very happy for attending this program. It has a great impact on my life.”
