Community Support 101 Program

Community Support 101 Program

The Community Support 101 program is a drop-in workshop to teach adults and seniors technology skills and about COVID-19. To support our community, we are also providing free food and hygienic products to those impacted by the pandemic. This program is comprised of 30 sessions, every Wednesday from 4-6 pm. The program is currently online; keeping in mind the health and safety of participants during the pandemic. Each session has three aspects as follows:

  1. Computer Literacy
  2. COVID-19 Information and Safety
  3. Food and Hygienic Product Distribution

The computer literacy component will include basic computer skills (Windows and Apple operating systems), how to optimize your iPad/Tablet use, how to use social media (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.), how to send emails efficiently, internet safety, and much more.

The COVID-19 component will include basic COVID-19 information, how to keep yourself safe against COVID-19, the effect of the pandemic on mental health and nutrition, and more.

Lastly, we will be giving free food and hygienic products to our participants to support them during this pandemic. To be eligible you must attend the sessions for at least one hour and reside in Mississauga.
