Living Well Support Circle

MIAG’s “Living Well Support Circle” is a new support group initiative aimed at empowering women, children, youth and families of Peel’s diverse communities through their involvement in an 8-session, weekly support group. Through their attendance, participants will develop new skills to face everyday challenges, develop positive coping mechanisms, increase resiliency, develop support networks, enhance communication and promote understanding among family members.

Round One wrapped up in December 2014 and was very successful. The first round addressed participants from the African, Caribbean, Latin American and Western communities.

Round Two, focusing on members of the Middle Eastern and South Asian ethno-cultural communities, concluded in May 2015.

Open group for individuals, couples and families starts Wednesday, May 13th at 10:00 am and the Women Only group begins on Friday, May 15th, 2015 at 10:00 am. Both 8-week group sessions will take place at Polycultural Immigrant & Community Services. 2225 Erin Mills Parkway, Mississauga. Support Groups for Young Adults and Children will take place at Catholic Family Services, at 60 West Drive, Brampton. Group participation is free of charge, and a light multicultural meal will be served.
