Youth Connection 101
Kids & Youth Leadership Training Program
Youth Connection 101 program addresses the urgent need for children and youth to revive their active living and to re-connect based on the 'New Normal' post COVID-19 pandemic. The program offers FREE leadership skills training for children and teenagers of different ethno-cultural communities. It encourages children and teens to be active, involved, empowered and inspired. During the program, children will learn very important and necessary personality and social skills such as Qualities of Leadership, Positive Communication, Conflict Resolution, Team Work, Mutual Respect, Appreciate Diversity, Public Speaking, Volunteerism and Giving Back to the Society among other values and skills that will be nurtured and will have an impact in their decision making during the program and in their futures. The coach will assign homework of preparing a speech, presentation, letter or an article, and to be presented and discussed with other team members during the sessions.
The Youth Connection 101 program will be offered virtually via Zoom & In-person on Thursdays starting on Feb 23, 2023 to Sep 19, 2024 from 6:00-7:30PM for six weekly sessions.
Children will learn to further develop their Leadership skills through activities led by a children’s educator on the following topics:
• Leadership Discussions & goals of the program
• Improving social skills
• Building confidence and strong personalities
• Communication, public skills and presentation skills
• Maintain positive relationships with others and give back to the community
• Physical Exercises & Model Leadership Exercise
