MIAG's Training Unit (MTU) stands as our fee-for-service professional development training wing, guided by our seasoned staff with extensive expertise in community development. Our workshops are designed to keep you and your team up to speed with new and relevant skills, ensuring that you stay current in your field. These hands-on and interactive workshops go beyond traditional learning methods. They provide practical experiences, interactive sessions, and include comprehensive handouts and resources to enhance your learning. Upon the successful completion of each training set, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

The Nonviolence 

Crisis Intervention

The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) program teaches safe, empathetic techniques to de-escalate conflicts and manage crises. It empowers professionals with tools for effective communication, preventing escalation, and ensuring safety for all involved.

Mental Health First AID (Standard) Training

April 8 - 9:00-5:00 pm

MHFA provides you with the skills needed to extend crucial support to individuals navigating mental health crises or challenges. Much like traditional first aid, MHFA fosters the ability to identify common signs of distress and deliver immediate aid until professional assistance is accessible

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMS)

April 22, 2025 12:00-1:30 pm

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) course equips participants with the skills to safely handle hazardous materials. It covers hazard classifications, WHMIS labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), proper storage, safe handling, and emergency preparedness. Attendees will learn their rights, responsibilities, and how to foster a safer workplace.
