MIAG is excited to announce free high quality counselling services to the diverse families. We offer culturally sensitive adult, youth, child, couple and family counselling services. MIAG is committed to providing comprehensive, well-coordinated, accessible services for diverse families. Services includes: assessment, evaluation, brief intervention, ongoing support, family support and court mandated services. Our team includes mental health counsellors who are experienced in working with people who have lived through exceptionally difficult and traumatic circumstances. Counsellors work with the family physician, other service providers and community organizations to provide a holistic approach that addresses larger issues. Services are offered in Individual, Group and Family sessions.
Our counselling team works collaboratively, using creative approaches to help clients deal with a broad range of issues such as: depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, substance abuse, adjustment disorder, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect.
Our focus at MIAG is on cultural competent and client-centred services. We recognize that each person is different and has individual social, physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological needs. Each person has also innate abilities, strengths and skills for survival. The services provided at MIAG incorporate the person’s strengths, preferences, needs, aspirations and cultural beliefs into the treatment plan.
