MIAG is my final year practicum that has given new opportunities to enhance my knowledge in the Social Worker field. I have had the chance to attend two training workshops, Mental Health First Aid Adults who interact with Youth and Children and Mental Health. I found these training series to be very informative and purposeful. It gave me a new insight on issues I am dealing with that I did not know needed more attention. I feel Mental Health is very important and these workshops need to be addressed in secondary and post-secondary education. They not only help an individual deal with their own mental health concerns but as well as educate one to see these concerns in their peers, friends, colleagues and family members. This is a growing topic that needs to be highlighted and pushed into school programs.[/wr_item_testimonial][/wr_testimonial][wr_testimonial el_title=”Nouni Munezero, Community Volunteer” div_margin_top=”0″ div_margin_left=”0″ div_margin_bottom=”0″ div_margin_right=”0″ items_per_slide=”3″ slider_elements=”arrows__#__indicator__#__ ” content_elements=”content__#__name__#__job_title__#__ ” author_image_style=”no-styling” content_type=”words” appearing_animation=”0″ disabled_el=”no” ][wr_item_testimonial elm_title=”Nouni Munezero,, Community Volunteer” name=”Nouni Munezero” name_height=”12″ job_title=”Community Volunteer” web_url=”http://” disabled_el=”no” ]It was a great experience for me volunteering at MIAG. The staff were very supportive and patient. I had the opportunity to learn new skills, and I was lucky to participate in many meetings, workshops and programs that were offered by staff members.

I had the opportunity to meet new people and helping them in their different needs. Volunteering at this organization has been a life changing experience for me. I developed many skills during these five months of my community placement. I also gained knowledge about the ‘Mental Health in Children’ and ‘Women Abuse and Mental Health’ by participating in this training.[/wr_item_testimonial][/wr_testimonial][wr_testimonial el_title=”Nouni Munezero, Community Volunteer copy” div_margin_top=”0″ div_margin_left=”0″ div_margin_bottom=”0″ div_margin_right=”0″ items_per_slide=”3″ slider_elements=”arrows__#__indicator__#__ ” content_elements=”content__#__name__#__job_title__#__ ” author_image_style=”no-styling” content_type=”words” appearing_animation=”0″ disabled_el=”no” ][wr_item_testimonial elm_title=”Nouni Munezero,, Community Volunteer” name=”Nouni Munezero” name_height=”12″ job_title=”Community Volunteer” web_url=”http://” disabled_el=”no” ]It was a great experience for me volunteering at MIAG.
